OUT OF TOUCH TORIES STILL THE PARTY OF TOFFS AND CRUELTY
“We have been shown again that Tory MPs are completely out of touch with the real world,” said Labour Candidate Donna Hutton.
Her comments followed reports that the Conservatives will make repeal of the Hunting Act a priority if elected next year.
“I am amazed that the Tories are still fixated with getting rid of the hunting ban,” continued Ms Hutton.
“The rest of us are concerned with jobs, health and education, while they want to be allowed to rip apart live deer, foxes and hares.
“Opinion polling in early October showed a large and growing majority of British people do not want this sort of cruelty to be made legal again.
“A MORI poll found that even most Conservative supporters do not want the ban on hunting to be ended!
“Some Tory MPs say the Hunting Act is not working – that is, hunts are breaking the law.
“The Theft Act did not eradicate burglary, but I don’t hear the Conservatives saying that should be made legal just because some criminals break the law!
“Many hunts are suspected of flouting the hunting ban, but evidence is hard to collect by members of the public. Hunts who operate in the Abergele/Colwyn Bay/Ruthin area, like the Flint & Denbigh Hunt, keep away from public scrutiny. But if it is likely that a law is being broken then the answer is for better law enforcement.
“If the Conservative Party want to allow a load of Toffs to get sozzled and ride around on horses, it must be made clear to them once and for all that they are not to tear apart wildlife for fun.”
