REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY CEREMONY IN RUTHIN ATTENDED BY HUNDREDS
Laying the wreath for the Labour Party at the Ruthin Town Council Remembrance Sunday 2008 ceremony was Donna Hutton, Parliamentary Candidate for Clwyd West constituency.

Joining many other politicians, the Armed Forces, organisations and hundreds of individuals paying their respects to the fallen at the rain and windswept War Memorial in Wynnstay Road, Ruthin, Ms Hutton said:
“It was a great honour to lay a wreath in memory of all that have fallen in so many conflicts. This year marks the 90th anniversary of the First World War, a conflict that perhaps marked the start of “modern”, mechanised warfare, which involves masses of civilians as well as people in the armed forces.
“Unfortunately that was not the ‘war to end wars’, as this country has since then lost a huge number of people to wars, and thousands of British service men and women are on active duty at this moment. Our hearts and our thoughts go out to all those who have and continue to pay the ultimate price so we can continue to live our lives much more safely.
“We must also ensure we continue to look after people who return from conflicts. They deserve our honour, respect and practical help to reduce their suffering, brought about on our behalf”.
