OUTRAGE - STOP GLYN FARM DEVELOPMENT!

“That is the message we are getting loud and clear when talking to residents near the Glyn Farm, where Conwy County Council wants 144 houses built”, said Donna Hutton, Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate.

The Council intends to allocate land at Glyn Farm for 144 houses in the new Local Development Plan, which local Councillor Chris Hughes and Parliamentary Candidate Donna Hutton have joined forces to oppose.

Ms Hutton continued, “Residents’ views must not be ignored! Chris Hughes had been working to ensure the site was not included in the development plans but at the last moment officers decided to put the land back in.

“There is only one road in and out, which is already congested, so another few hundred cars would be devastating! No improvements are planned to the infrastructure, which barely copes now. After flooding a pump was put in, but this will not be enough to stop run-off after this large development. This is positively the wrong site for new housing and Conwy council should think again!”

Councillor Hughes said, “Despite a last-ditch attempt to remove the site from development plans at a Council meeting on March 30th our Labour Councillors were not supported by the other parties, so they all share part of the blame”.

Ms Hutton and Mr Hughes have been consulting residents of the area and will present a petition to the Council next month.

They are now calling on residents for help in this campaign if they agree this site should be removed from the Council’s Local Development Plan, by writing to the Council, by contacting Ms Hutton through the "Contact Me" button (left of screen) or by signing the online petition at http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/stop_glyn_farm_development/
