WARM TRIBUTE TO CONWY MP BY LABOUR CANDIDATE
A warm tribute has been paid to Betty Williams, Conwy’s retiring Member of Parliament, by Donna Hutton, Labour’s Parliamentary Candidate for neighbouring Clwyd West constituency.
Mrs Hutton said:
“Betty has held Conwy constituency since 1997, increasing her majority since being first elected. It came as a complete surprise to learn that she will be standing down at the next general election.
“She is an extremely hard working MP and well respected by everyone, even her political opponents! Betty never stops and I am always impressed by her energy and enthusiasm. She always has time for her constituents and is ceaseless in working for people to be treated fairly.
"I have worked with Betty for many years now and she has always been extremely supportive. It is only honest to say that I am sad that she will not be in Parliament after the next election, but I do know she has not taken her decision lightly.
“She will be much missed, although I know we can all rely upon her support and guidance into the future.”
