DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IS STILL A HIDDEN PROBLEM

Domestic violence remains a problem needing urgent attention, according to Donna Hutton, Labour’s candidate for Parliament in a North Wales constituency.

Donna Hutton helps on Unison stall to raise awareness of domestic violence

Mrs Hutton, who hopes to represent people from Colwyn Bay, to Towyn and Ruthin after the next General Election, joined Unison trade union members on Saturday (22/11/08) to raise awareness of the plight suffered by many behind closed doors.

Mrs Hutton said:

“It seems amazing that violence within the home, particularly towards women and children, is still a really big problem in this day and age.

“But the lives of many are still ruined or ended by what often goes on in secret, as we have seen so recently in a number of terrible cases.
