CAMERON - TORIES TO CUT SUPPORT FOR WALES
“David Cameron has let slip that the Tories want to see the government step back from supporting Wales. He claims government support here is ‘too big’.”
Donna Hutton, Labour Candidate for Clwyd West Constituency, was commenting on David Cameron’s interview with Jeremy Paxman on Friday evening.
“True to form, the Tory leader refused to say where the Tory axe would fall”, continued Ms Hutton.
“20% of our jobs in places like Colwyn Bay, Abergele, Ruthin and Kinmel Bay are in the public sector.
“And the public sector provides vital services to local residents – particularly to the most vulnerable in our communities.
“People will be very concerned about this new threat posed by the Conservative Party.
“Yet despite the tough times the Tories plan for jobs and public services here in Clwyd West, they still believe that providing tax cuts for millionaires is a priority!
“At this election Labour has made a clear pledge to protect frontline investment in childcare, policing, our schools and our NHS.
“This latest admission by Mr. Cameron comes on top of plans to make swift and savage cuts to public spending, which will have a huge impact on jobs and services.
“So this election gives local people a chance to have their say on the future of our vital public services, which will be savaged by the Tories”.
