LABOUR LAUNCHES PLEDGES IN NORTH WALES

“Tories will want to cancel Christmas next!” said Clwyd West Candidate Donna Hutton.

Ms Hutton was speaking at the Labour Party’s launch of five election pledges on Anglesey on Saturday 28th March.

“Labour has a logical plan to deal with the deficit. Whilst the Tories want to pay it back too quickly, “ said Ms Hutton.

“Compare the national deficit with your own finances. You don’t pay your own bills from Christmas, for instance, on New Year’s Day. You budget.

“So why do the Tories want Britain’s borrowing paid back now? It is just an excuse to cut public services, which they hate.

“Their motive is simple. Cuts in services mean people will have to buy them for more money – giving profits to the Tories’ friends.

“Yet in my constituency, in towns like Colwyn Bay, Ruthin or Abergele, public services are the biggest employer.

“Promises to slash public sector jobs by today’s Tories are as chilling as Thatcher’s attacks of the 1980s.”

Welsh Labour Leader and First Minister Carwyn Jones AM formally launched Labour’s five pledges at a rally of supporters in the Anglesey Arms, Menai Bridge. Speeches were heard from Candidates Donna Hutton, Alun Pugh and Albert Owen MP.
