“DON’T LET THE FASCIST WIN BY TURNING YOUR BACK!”
That was the message delivered to Labour Party members over the weekend by Donna Hutton, Clwyd West Parliamentary Candidate.
“Remember Hitler and his cronies were elected and only then did they burn down their Parliament and show their true colours. The BNP may have exchanged jackboots and swastika armbands for smart suits today, but they are just the same people who were bombing us and killing British people just a few generations ago,” Ms Hutton continued.
Speaking in the run-up to Thursday’s European elections, Ms Hutton urged everyone to use their vote.
“The fascists have not changed their exploitation of fear, resentment, blame or just apathy. And that is the danger – that they will win seats on Thursday because other voters just do not turn out.
“A lot of people are quite rightly outraged at unprincipled actions of a lot of MPs, who have been taking public money when they knew they should not. Many of them - across the political divide – will be removed as MPs. That is right, but must not be seen as a reason no to participate in democracy.
““Because of the technical way Thursday’s vote will work, absolutely every vote will count, even if you live in an area normally dominated by one party or another. That is how the BNP could slip into the European Parliament because their supporters are determined to turn out – it is also how honest, decent people can stop them, by using their votes on Thursday.”
